Default [tut] How to use limewire 100% safe

I made this video upon request by many users of which wanted to know how to use limewire completely safe. And i put my brain to work and decided to come up with this idea. I know the first thing that pops into users minds when they hear the word limewire, and that is virus, well i have decided to come up with a way to prevent any virus's 100% completely safe, only requires 10 minutes of your time.

I am sure limewire support team will like this idea, it helps complaining about virus's random questions, on downloading virus problems. etc.

Default 100% Safe?????

Hi Bugmenot (cool name)

First, I could not watch your YouTube video this morning, all I got was that it was unavailable (please see attached screen print).

Secondly, 100% safe? I find that extremely hard to believe and may lull the naive into a false sense of security.

I am sceptical on two fronts:

a) There is no such (practical) thing as being 100% safe.

b) Using the Internet and gnutella network always requires the use of up dated protective apps and a good amount of caution.

However, as I said, I have not seen your video yet so I'll wait for it before passing judgement.

Apart from using a sandbox, this video is telling people to set their max uploads to zero. And then to double check that their number of shared files is also zero.

Quite simply - if nobody shared, there would be no Gnutella network.

I've just seen Bugmenot's YouTube video, using IE8.0, and I must say that I agree with Birdy that the suggestions therein are anti-P2P, i.e don't share your files.

However, the idea of using Sandboxie with LW, or any other P2P app, seems like a very good move, it adds an extra layer of protection to your computer setup.

But I get the impression that in order to get Sanboxie and any other P2P app to work properly will require a powerfull setup, possibly a dual or quad core CPU and lots of ram memory.

As for the safety aspects, the risks are certainly minimised.

He includes a link to download a free version of LW 5.4.8 Pro (the 'more info' link on YouTube).

Regardless of what anyone thinks of LW, this forum can't condone downloading of Pro for free - if this forum wants to maintain a good relationship with LW & be linked to as a help site.

So the YouTube link has been deleted.

I also wouldn't advise not sharing any files as I myself don't support freeloaders. If you want some really good user advice on using limewire check out this site How To Use Limewire

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately the site links to scam sites. Using clickpay is easy way for you to make money but you will not continue making money via people from this forum!

All those links in your signature are commercial links. Wow some people choose not to read the forum rules. neh bleh
