I had an older version of LimeWire that I never had any problems with, and just dumped it to download the new 2.4.4 version. The only thing that downloads is the LimeWire .sit file, and when I double click it the only thing that happens is that Microsoft Word opens...No sign of an installer anywhere. What's going on???

Get stuffit expander (not delux) and open the file directly from that program.

I find it useful to keep a copy of Stuffit Expander in the dock and, when I need to open anything stuffed on bined or whatever I just drop the file on the Expander icon and -- voila -- it opens. Fast and easy, no bizarre events like opeing in Word or Toast or whatever.
