Cannot Launch Java Application

greetings-
Just downloaded the new version of LW and the installation seemed like it went fine- NOPE, now when I try to run the program I get the following error message "Cannot Launch Java Application "the main class "com.zerog.lax.LAX" could not be loaded. What it the world does this mean and how can I fix it ?
Please Advise

Java

I received the same message twice, when I tried to open up my already loaded LimeWire......if you find out what that problem is let me know, because I'll NEVER find this page again. LOL..photolas@earthlink.net I also found that when I had it loaded a few weeks ago, it clogged up my entire system Mac OSX and I couldn't get the uploading to STOP. I had to uninstall LimeWire and it's not the first time I've had to do it.

zerog.com.lax.lax error

having the same problem in mac OS 10.1.5 and now 10.2. Tried re-installing the os and Limewire multiple times. Don't know where the missing file should be located, in the OS or in LW itself. Still looking into it...

Hi there,

Although I don't have a Mac, perhaps I can shed some light on this problem, as I've also had LAX issues on my Linux/x86 box.

Anything mentioning LAX is referring to "LaunchAnywhere", a piece of software used for making installers and launchers for java programs.

I had a problem (on the Linux board) with a mistake in the LimeWire/LimeWire.lax file. Maybe your problem is also to do with this.

Check that this line is present (and that lax.main.class does not point to anything else):
lax.main.class=RunLime

Also make sure that there is a file called:
lax.jar

In your LimeWire directory.

I hope this points you in the direction of a solution, or at least a more informed message to LimeWire technical support :-(

Hi again,

I just had another idea about this. Make sure in LimeWire.lax, that the line 'lax.class.path=...' has got no spaces in it, and that lax.jar is in the colon-separated list of .jar files.

Good luck.

java via limewire

check to see if you have java on your os9 side. then start up osx 10.1 or .2. they should be shared files. check your browser and make sure that java is enabled. do a software upgrade from your syst. profiler . try to install limewire again.
