I can download files however when i try to play i get the followingmessage " cannot open file because software component needed by movie could not be found,please help. |

and it seems that by reading the many messages that have been posted there are many uses with simular problems.IF you manage to rectify the problem please advise me as my tech skills aren't very good.

I cannot open the mpeg files with my quicktime. Everytime I try it tells me that the software component needed by the movie cannot be found. Pleassseeee somebody help meeee

Sorry--many mpegs cannot be easily played in Quicktime 6.1. The easiest way to see if they'll play at all is to try using the free "vlc" player. You can download it from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/.
If that doesn't work, try qazzaq's idea of searching these forums for many more suggestions. If the file ends in .mpeg, it probably won't play, but .mpg's can usually be viewed. |
