Installer Stalls

Hello...
When I run the installer, it loads and asks me to choose a language. I choose english. It then starts to load, but it stops at about 4/5th of the way and just hangs, not doing anything, and it will not go anywhere. I am running Mac OS 10.2.2 with Java 1.3.1, and this has been happening to me for the last 15 or so updates.
Any help is appreciated.
