Default Downloads aren't saved

most of the times, when I have to quit LimeWire (to save costs, or try to get back into the data-flow) my saved but incomplete downloads are gone. It's like as if LW forgets to remember what was inthe download-list...

any hints?

Incomplete downloads are only remembered for the set time, which said time can be set in the preferences. If it's a small enough value, you may lose your incomplete files between when you run Limewire.

If that doesn't help you, could you please elaborate and give us your specs?

Default lost downloads

well, it's definitely not the set time to keep - since I sit behind a modem, the network isn't very stable, and I set downloads to be kept for 60 days (!) - could be an overload the reason?

I also realized that limewire and acquisition seem to use the same kindof "incomplete" folder, and collide. So I started to use only limewire, but the list still is lost every second quit or so...

what specs would you like to see?

TIA
david

Alright, you have OS X, that's what's important. Here's my OS X spiel.

Download Jum's build of LW for OS X at http://baghira.han.de/~jum/. That fixes numerous OS X bugs and such.

Time constraints I believe.

In addition, Jum (Jens Uwe-Mager) provides all of the patches in the jum build to the LW team, who incorporate them into the official build. The impression I get, however, since many of these bugs are minor, they are put near the end of a long list of things the programmers need to do. I am not criticizing them in any way, I am agreeing with them in their recognition that certain aspects of development and bug fixing take precedence over minor OS X bug fixes. In the meantime, use the jum build.

Default lost my stuff again

Hi Blackbird

Thanks to jum, it's been a long time without too much hassle, but I guess I just went a bit too far.

Had quite a bunch of incomplete tracks on my list, which seem to be lost for good again. Jens-Uwes Builds seem to be much more stable than the official ones, althouth there are crashes all the time. a hassle, but no loss, up to today, when his build (3.4.1jum194 - the newer version was crashing every few minutes, so I went back to this one) too lost track of the downloads-list.

so, here's finally the Question: Is there a way to get these partial downloads back online? Like, replacing the newly activated dnload with the 80%-accomplisheed old one?

anything else?

thanx very much
davery

Right now there's a problem with incomplete downloads. I'm not sure if it's been resolved. Check the forums, it's in one of the threads, can't recall which right now.

btw--looks like the lost incompletes isn't a problem with 3.4.2jum196. Through 7 or more crashes, my incompletes were saved and resumed just fine. (and 3.4.3jum197 is out now).
