2.8.5 Installer won't run - quits on launch

Downloaded and unzipped the 2.8.5 installer to get Limewire Installer.app. Double click it to launch and nothing, it appears in the Dock for a split second then disappears. Didn't launch in 10.1.5 yesterday, I thought I'd have to wait to upgrade to Jaguar (which I also did yesterday). Now running OS X 10.2.3 and it still won't launch. At least v2.6.5 still works for me, although I get the annoying error message that all users must upgrade to 2.8.4 or something at startup...

Any clues? Using a TiG4 Powerbook with 768 MB of RAM...no other problems with Jaguar thus far, I love it.
