can't install 3.8.6 on os X iMac

I have experienced a gremlin in the install of the latest Pro Limewire 3.8.6. I download a dmg file without a problem but after mounting the image -when I try to install as prompted by double-clicking the Lime image it crashes. I know that the install is supposed to use the OSX Install utility but it tries to use Stuffit Expander instead. HELP
