Version 4.0.7 will not install on OS 10.3.4
 

I am having problems getting the Installer to install LW. The .dmg file creates a disk image, which contains the "Install Limewire" app. When I double-click on this program, "Stuffit Expander" briefly runs and then quits, but LW is not installed. I have tried re-downloading the 4.0.7 Installer from LW, but with the same results. I do not have a similar problem with other .dmg installers.

Suggestions on how I can get LW installed would be appreciated.

I might be a long way from the answer, but if I can suggest, repair permissions, run whatever osx utilities you have (preferably 3rd party if you have them such as Norton or/& any others; eg: DiskWarrior & TechTool Pro), restart your computer & try again. There's certain issues in OSX that are not made clear to us (such as could've been fixed easily in os9 & before), but I believe 'some' of these principles are probably the same. But how to fix them is not so apparent! (It could be anything from corrupt prefs to recognition of file types.) Sometimes it takes drastic measures to answer these issues such as reinstalling some apps. Has Expander given you issues with anything else before? It's clashing with other apps for some reason!

This sux! I was just getting used to the itunes features in lw. 4.0.5 works fine at work, dnld 4.0.7 at home and now nothing! arghhh, this is so frustrating. I've even tried to copy the program from work and transfer at home, but no luck. The icon bounces and then poof, gone. "Application not responding" appears in the dock header when you hold down the icon upon trying to launch.

To all who have tried to install the latest LW (pro or Basic) Download and install Java 1.4.2 from apple.com and then start LW.
