Mounting Failed when downloading limewire

Hey i'm after some help. Everytime i try to download limewire for my new Emac, it gets to about 200kb and stops. It then says "failed to mount". Or something like that. It does this both using safari and internet explorer.
Can Anyone Help us out.
I'm running panther Mac OS X 10.3.5

Hello and welcome to the forums, stilivn. You should run Software Update to make sure your version of Mac OS 10.3 and software are up to date. Apple recently released Mac OS 10.3.6 awhile ago that addresses some issues. Go to the Apple menu and come down to Software Update. I just downloaded LimeWire Basic and it downloaded and mounted fine using Safari version 1.2.4 with Mac OS 10.3.6 installed. I hope this helps solve your problem.

Dare I say it, but update 10.3.6 has some bugs. I think Stief posted a link to an article which discusses this.

Stilivn,

You should run Software Update but you should choose if you want to get the update to 10.3.6 or not. I downloaded the update to 10.3.6 and it works fine for me.

OS 10.3.6 works fine for me also. The only odd thing I noticed is with my external HDD. But apparently ext HDD's is one of its bugs. Up to you but you can do a search of 10.3.6 on the forum to see how it's affected a few people.

Apparently Internet Explorer has been known to have some dwnlding issues in OSX. Likewise the earlier versions of Safari had similar issues too.

As far as the file goes. If it happens again. Ignore the failed to mount. Go to the dmg file & drag & drop it onto Disk Copy. If that fails see THIS thread OR THAT thread.

Oh Spearson, that's telling him. If I didn't say it once I ... lol :D ;)
