Installed OSX, having trouble with OS9 Limewire.

I recently installed Mac OS X 10.3 on my iMac, which was Mac 0S 9 before. I had Limewire, and a long list of downloads. Once I installed OS X, I opened Limewire, and it automatically opened up the old, OS 9 startup window... well, once that all finally happened, I went to my list of downloads, and I discovered that a good portion of them, mostly my latest downloads, had their songs only partially completed. Some of the songs are cut in half, and not completed like they were before. One of my questions is whether I can fix these songs. If not, should I re-download Limewire on OS X and can I transfer at least some of the remaining, complete files on my old OS 9 Limewire application to the new re-downloaded one? Or do I have to start from scratch? If someone could please respond, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you're using OSX & you open up an os9 application which then forces OS9 to open, this is called the Classic environment. It is NOT a good idea to run LW in the Classic environment. Either use the OS9 version in OS9 startup or startup in OSX & use an OSX version. The Classic envt. is not very good really. I mean it is good but many apps don't run as well.

I wouldn't have a clue whether the preferences & download.dat files can be safely swapped between OS 9 & X. If you're going to try it, I'd suggest you back everything up, including your incompletes & dwnld.dat file. To be on the safe side. If you do try it, I'd be particularly interested to know the result. I jumped from using LW in OS 8.5 to OSX so I missed some of that type of experimentation. lol :D
