Question I am trying to install.

Well thank you for taking the time to read this and I would greatly appreciate your help. I have Mac OSX. I installed LIMEWIRE BASIC at first and it was fine. Then I tried to downlod a song that cameout to be corrupted. So a pop up came up that asked if I still wanted to download it, of course I clicked "no". Then a pop up came up and said that the song did not have a license, whatever that means, did I still want to download, I picked yes. Well another pop up came up and I may have gotten the two confused but I think I told the comp to always respond "no" to the songs without a license. After that I would try to download a song and it wouldn't even move down to show that it was downloading, cuz it wasn't. So I thought that I could uninstall LIMEWIRE and then re-install it so that it would ask me the same questions and this time I would pay close attention to what it asked. I re-installed it a few times but it never asked me again. Then the last time I tried it didn't even give me the option of downloading LIMEWIRE basic only PRO. I don't know what to do this is very frustrating. Please help!

Thank you,
I LOVE SUGAR

hmmmm the preferences should list various items:

1st Saving ............................. 14th View 15th Searching 16th Filters and last 17th Advanced.

Have you not got that ... it might be under options depending on which skin you have.

I tried to send a screen shot but can't

And like I said Sugar is bad for the teeth if you try to get her/his bone with them

Default are we on the same page?

are you giving me these instructions to do on LIMEWRE? Because I dont have LIMEWIRE. Remember I said I uninstalled it and it wont let me re-install basic anymore? If it is still in my comp somewhere I can't find it for the life of me I have looked everywhere.

Right ... I thought you had installed pro. but it seems you cannot install anything!

You need to uninstall your previous copy of Limewire.

go to Applications. If there is a folder called LimeWire delete it. Go to HD>Users>Your name>Library>Preferences>LimeWire... delete the folder "LimeWire"

Keep finder open and click on file >find seach for "limewire" and you may find LimeWire.dmg and LimeWire.pkg. Delete them also, but if you can't find them don't worry, you may not have them.

Now got to Limewire http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml and down load again. Use Safari, not another browser to do this.

The first thing you should do when you get Limewire working, is follow the instructions in my first reply to you and with a bit of luck you should be up and running. Any problem ...give us a shout, sorry for the delay, the forums have been on and offf all day!

Default help me!

That is exactly what I did to begin with. I figured if I put all the LIMEWIRE info into my trsh and emptied it that I could basically start over. Well whenever I get back into http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml the only option I have is to downloan Pro. You know how it usually looks like this:
example I am going to use a * as a check mark

PRO (no basic option)
blahblah * X

blahblah * X

blahblah * x

Get now!

Usually it would have the basic option but t doesn't. I think it is beacuse I still have it in my comp somewhere but I can't find it!! I tried installing it in my friends comp and she has the old versionand the normal screen came up for hers.

hmmm If you go to the Limewire site with your browser Limewire.com is not going to know what you have installed (or not) your computer, It's not going to make any difference!!!!

I just clicked on the link you gave > ... 2 columns red buttons Get Pro and Get Basic
push get basic ...mark that you will not infringe copyright> continue > 2 columns one says get pro ... the other, in small letters says see below. You select MAC OSX and there you go.

Are you saying you get something different? If so on the page you have linked can you see a massage top left saying "Choose Language", and if you click on the arrow do you get a drop down menu ... I'm clutching at straws here !!! Are you using safari? What computer and OSX version are you using? and I hope Sugar is well

One last thought ....Empty the cache and history on your browser before going to the limewire site again.

Yep empty cache of Safari should do the trick. If you can't downld LW basic then I'll email it to you. Just pm your email to me. And as Only A Hobo said, go to your receipts folder & delete LimeWire.pkg if it still exists there. eg: Receipts folder sample image (although LW is not listed in this example it shows where to find LW.pkg)
