Lime wire closes abruptly
 

my lime wire closes about 10 seconds after I open it everytime and it worked previously till I updated it with the new limewire 4.9 if anyone could help me it would be more then appreciated

Which OS X version are you running? (eg: OS 10.3.9)

Try deleting your LW preferences found here:
/Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Then I would recommend re-installing Java: Java 1.4.2 for Tiger (click on link)

BTW it's also possible to update your Java to 1.5 & then make LW use it by using the Java 1.5 utility program found in the Java 1.5 folder. It's not something I've done myself but Apple have it listed as being an option. But 1st try reinstalling 1.4.2 & see if that fixes it.

Also delete the LW prefs file as suggested earlier. Other things to try are a SAFE start (reboot whilst holding down SHIFT key) & use Disk Utility to repair permissions. Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
