Exclamation Help! My iPod is not showing up in iTunes after installing Limewire

I hope someone can help with this. I have an iMac G5 and I downloaded Limewire Basic. I downloaded about 200 songs yesterday and last night, but now when I plug up my iPod to the computer, iTunes doesn't recognize it. It says there is no iPod connected. My son's iPod doesn't show up either -- they show up on the Desktop, but not in iTunes. The Limewire songs show up in iTunes, and I placed them into the Library, but I can't transfer them to my iPod because iTunes won't recognize that an iPod is connected. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it????

Are you pluggung in the iPod with Limewire running. I'm not sure if this MIGHT cause a problem. Try rebooting and updating the ipod with absolutely nothing running apart from iTunes. Let us know if this helps. This problem has been mentioned before ... but not afaik resolved.

Default Help! My iPod is not showing up

Thanks for the response My husband actually figured out how to fix this. Apparently it is a problem that has nothing to do with LimeWire, but occurs sometimes in the iMac G5 computers when they are set to automatically go to sleep. The computer went to sleep last night with LimeWire and iTunes running, and then today wouldn't recognize the iPod. We rebooted, turned off the setting that makes the computer automatically sleep, and everything was fine! So other iMac G5 users, take note and change the setting under Preferences that makes the computer automatically go to sleep if you are going to be downloading music overnight.
