My songs have gone

This morning when I logged in I had to virtually relaunch Limewire basic. After doing this I found that my entire Itunes library of 170 songs has disappeared. I can see the songs listed in my Limewire tunes library but cannot access them. Does this mean that I will have to download everything again? Does anyone know why this happened in the first place?
Thanks

Try searching the computer for one of the song titles using finder.

where were the songs files before you lost them? Were they in your iTunes folder, or elsewhere? Sometimes they seem to find a home in the Limewire folder in applications which is the worst place they could be, as they would be deleted if you deleted Limewire.

go to Limewire > preferences>saving > what is the location of your save folder? is this the same as it was before your "virtual relaunch"?

If you can't find a file as I mentioned this link contains information on trying to restore lost files and possibly it might help.

Thanks "Only a Hobo" - I really appreciate your answer. The music was originally saved in my library in Itunes - and it was from here that it was lost - but was also in another file I created in applications. When I went into that folder I accidently double clicked and the song copied back into Itunes. One problem solved.

Now, only to find out why Limewire relaunched.
