LW 4.10.5 Crashes and/or freezes with OSX 10.3.5

Hi, is there any reason for the newest version of LW to crash or simply freeze (the mouse turns into the multi-colored circle, like if it was doing something) after some minutes of operation. That didn't use to happend with the earlier virsion i was using (i think it was 4.9....,not sure). I saw the virsions history and didn't see anything about fixing any bug like that or compatibility problem wirh OSX 10.3.5.. What is there to do?
Thanks
J.

10.3.5? Do you have the Java 1.4.2 update 2?

Go to your utilities folder & open Activity Monitor. Open LW & make a note of how much VM (virtual memory) LW is using. Then do a search & make a note of how much VM is used. Then make another a note 5 or 10 mins later. Repeat process until LW crashes & post your results here. Also note how long it is before LW crashes. For a reference, see Jum's thread in the LW beta section of the forums.

I had a similar issue with the 1st 4.10 update. Your system might suffer similar issues to what mine did.

Test results

Thanks Lord...
Ok, here are the results:
When I open LW (3 P.M.) memory usage is at 72.82MB. Then, did 2 simultanious searches - memory up: started from 78 and at the end of search was at 143.91 MB. (the search took about 5 min). Search stoped but memory usage kept on growing, five min after 3 PM, at 3.05 it was 166MB. Did another search and at the end of it (bout 5 min later, 3.10 P.M.) memory increased to 352MB. Then, I didn't do any more serches till 3.15 it was at 600MB! Did another search at 3.17 P.M, memory was at 700MB. At the end of it (3.21) it was using 1GB of memory. Started downloading something and at 3.30 memory ussage was at 1.71GB. Oh, ok... It crashed at 3.3O at about 1.8GB of memory usage... Can something be done to prevent eating all my memory?
Thanks..
J.
