Downloaded Limewire 4.10 fine but can't install it.

After I downloaded Limewire 4.10 to my desktop, the window with the "Install Limewire" appears but when I double click it nothing happens. I've checked around here and I tried the suggested Security update and that didn't work. I had also tried fixing the java problem the the apple site had suggested. My old version was working fine but then just ramdomly stopped, so I've been trying to download the latest version, with not much success in the installation process. Can anyone help me?

10.3.9 panther

Go to the Receipts folder & remove the installimwire.pkg file & try again; Receipts folder sample image

BTW did you see this QuickTime 7.0.4 bug stops LimeWire from opening!

I removed the installlimewire.pkg, do I need to delete it or just remove it from that folder? It didn't work by just removing it.

I didn't see the quicktime problem, but I did just upgrade recently, so I'll try uninstalling that.

Hmm well if the QT doesn't do it, reinstall Java 1.4.2 http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...update142.html & again, if it won't let you reinstall it, remove the 1.4.2updatex from the Receipts folder. Normally you shouldn't remove files from receipts as the system requires them.

Also try doing a SAFE boot & repairing permissions; SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions

I purchased Lime Wire Pro and was able to use it without any problems. Then today I did a clean up of my computer and now it is missing. I have attempted to contact support using my email address I used when I purchased it. It continues to say that it is not a valid LimeWire Pro email address. How can I get my LimeWire Pro back?

Thanks for all your help, I finally got it working.

Good to hear kallysto.

Debl see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=54008 as there's tips there about what you can do. LW Pro is only valid for customer support for 6 months btw.
