Trouble playing a movie

New to this
Downloaded movie that wan't what it said but works O'k and looks like a good movie.
Followed advice to check out files on Bizti and found one with a score of 1.4 that appeared to be what I wanted. It has taked hours to download about 700 meg, but when I try and play it I just get a green screen for 12 seconds on the quicktime player.

Have I just got a dud or could it be something else because the file appears to be the right size????

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Probably a codec issue. Try using a different player. We usually recommend VLC media player, it has codecs built in and will play most file types.

More info in this thread: Video playback problems? See CODECs list & alternate players for Videos

Hope this helps:)

For mac, get both VLC & MPlayer. They both have internal codecs (plug-ins) that can play most that's out there video wise. There's the odd thing one can do the other can't. Invaluable for OSX users or any platform for that matter.
