Question Help! Loser at Burning Karaoke songs to disc

Info: Apple Powerbook 4, Operating System: OSX 10.4.8, internal CD drive, itunes 7.0.1, external Lacie d2 dual DVD+-RW drive with Roxio Toast 7 Titanium software. Now, the Sony Karoke player is a CD/DVD player is hooked up to run through a Denon Receiver with the music and words appearing on a plasma monitor. I have purchased Karaoke music (CD+G and others) online that work perfectly.

I've paid for and downloaded Karoke songs from itunes that are just sitting in my itunes library and a copy is on my desktop. All songs are MPG4.

I can't seem to buy CD+G, so I have the following: CD-RW, CD-R, DVD-R.

At one point, when it appeared as though I had actually burned a playlist onto CD+RW, I put it in the Sony Player and it read: No audio, no Image.

Where can I find step-by-step instructions as to how to do this?
I feel like an idiot having been dealing with this for a few weeks now.
What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like your Sony player does not read CD-RW's which is not unusual. Do you have a dvd player? Try burning using Toast to a dvd-rw & see how your dvd player handles it. Some dvd players do not play rw's but many do. I'm not sure if dvd players support the cd-g format but it's worth experimenting with to see if it at least works.

I don't know the difference between audio cd with text & cd-g format & whether the 2 are the same or different. Toast can burn audio cd's with text.

Check http://www.gnutellaforums.com/audiobook-karaoke-issues/ & see if anything there is of any help. I recall there is a forum that deals with cd-g issues or has such info. Here's a start http://www.gnutellaforums.com/audiob...-limewire.html

Another place where i saw information some years back was Read reviews, comments and find downloads at the media database at CD Freaks.com but I can't find the exact location. Try the forums there.

One thing I did find from my searches was your burner needs to support cd-g burning. I'm not sure if yours does. Also best to burn at minimum speed. Some tips Explain Karaoke disks for me Please... [Archive] - CDROM-Guide forums
