Hello...I just got a new hard drive installed on my iBook G4 (running OS 10.3.4), and I've been desperately trying to install a p2p program (any program!) from Gnutella. I've tried LimeWire, FrostWire, and Phex. All do the same thing: they download just fine, but when I try to open/install any of them, the icon bounces a few times in the dock and then closes right up. I haven't been able to get any of these programs to even open for me. Any thoughts? I've been searching around and apparently this problem is somewhat common, but I haven't been able to figure out how to fix it. Thanks for any and all help!

To use the latest p2p programs you need java 1.5 but OSX 10.3 only uses Java 1.4
So ... you need an older version LW -> Lime Wire » Download Out-Of-Date Installers AND after installing, do these things SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions to get your system back into order. |
