Limewire to iTunes In an earlier version, Limewire immediately transferred the downloaded songs to my iTunes player. this then allowed me to access the songs from either the Limewire site or my itunes library. I just downloaded the new version, and I cannot seem to figure out how to have the newly downloaded song automatically be transferred to itunes. Please help me with this. thanks...jsoos@mac.com |
You need to set your download directory in LimeWire (Tools:Options:Saving) to the same folder that iTunes collects its library from. |
I am a novice How is the above advice put into practice/done? |

Abraxus, With Limewire open go preferences and select you iTunes library as the place to save new downloads. It should work, I've only just worked it out myself soc it's not quite tried and true yet :) Good luck |

For auto importing from LW to iTunes, go to LW's prefs ⌘ , and choose iTunes -> Importing and click Enable iTunes importing option. Press apply button. |
No Audio In My Downloads If I download a video & transfer it to itunes. It'll play with sound, Once I convert it to be transfered to my ipod there is no audio. Has anyone experienced this? If so, how they solve the problem? Thanks, |
Check your converter options, I am aware of one converter that has settings for audio many people miss. ;) |
It's funny though. I downloaded ******* converted it using itunes, it went into my ipod audio and all. Everything after that went in with no audio. I didn't change any settings between songs but none after back to black had any audio. I'm stumped! __________________________________________________ Edited to comply with the House Rules. Figured it out! Itunes & Quicktime don't handle mpeg2 (aka "muxed") too well. This is what I got from reading their support site. So you either have to purchase an add-on to quick time called mpeg2 playback or purchase quicktime pro, which is really only an upgrade. I'm going to upgrade to the pro and see how that works out. Thanks. |
iTunes will not import mpeg2,it has been designed to only import mpeg4 or H.264 which is an advanced mpeg4 format. But .... if you do have QuickTime Pro, you will see options within both QuickTime & other programs to convert to iPod compatible format. ;) Directly via QT Pro you can do it via opening the video, choose Export from file menu, choose iPod or MPeg4 format, else choose Quicktiime Movie format, click Advanced button, click Settings & choose H.264 format. You will see iPhone format option too. |
1 Attachment(s) As mentioned in my previous post, if you have QuickTime Pro, this is all you need to do (see image below.) QT Pro also gives the iPod export option to some other mac programs that use QuickTime for exporting. _____ File menu -> Export. Keyboard shortcut for Mac is Command (Apple key) - E _____⌘ E. _____ If Movie to iPod is not already selected, then select it from the drop down menu in the Export window. MPeg 4 & H.264 will also import to iTunes & iPod however, the video dimensions, etc. must be exact for iPod which is why it's best to choose the preset of Movie to iPod to make sure the file is converted in a way that makes iPod happy. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...xport-ipod.gif |

Drag & Drop the desired playlists across if you are using iTunes & you have it switched to manual update of iPod. ;) See the link to the iPod tutorial from Wondering Why's link. ;) It will show you multiple ways of doing it. :) |
