Issues Downloading Limewire

Hello,

I recently purchased a macbook not pro with leapard. I did install limewire once and it appeared to work then after a while I would hit the icon and it wouldn't open. Better yet the icon would disappear! I tried to download it again and it's giving me issues regarding which "shared folder" I should use. It's very frustrating because downloading music was one of the main reasons I went with MAC as opposed to PC. Any help or advice as to how to get limewire up and running consistantly would be greatly appreciated.
