can't find LW after download hey mods...thanks in advance for your help...i have done quite a bit of reading, including the stickys, but can't find my problem answered anywhere...i emptied my trash, got rid of all old LWs, bought the new LW pro (4.18.8 i think), and whenever i run the installer, it works, but then the lime icon never comes up on the desktop or hard drive, so i can't get to LW...i did the troubleshooting in the sticky about my firewall, and still nothing...i am on mac OS 10.4.11 with wireless hookup and plenty of room for it on the hard drive...any clue as to what i should do next, or what i am doing wrong?...thanks! |
Try inside your Applications folder. :) Go to Finder, choose Go menu & find Applications. After opening it, find the LW folder & open it. Then drag & drop the LW program icon into your Dock. Else, Command L will create an Alias of it which you can place on your desktop. :) |
LOTR...got it, thanks so much!...i clicked on the LW folder in apps, and there it was...i kept trying to click on the LW alias and LWOSX.dmg icons, and that just got me back to the installer...finally!...sorry for being such a fool, i have used LW in the past and didn't remember the proper steps...thanks again! jdizzle23 |
Your welcome :) You'd be surprised how many other people make the identical mistake. ;) :D BTW personally I use a special menu program called Butler. It's donateware. You can locate any favorite folders or programs or files inside it. Best to categorize it however. ;) One thing I do though is get rid of the web stuff, loading of 'all programs in it' & slow cache updating down so it does not affect the system. Easy to access programs, etc. using this menu program. :) (I don't like cluttered desktops lol, like to keep it clean.) You can google it if interested. |
