Default limewire 4.18 will not launch

I have upgraded to limewire 4.18 and now I can't get it to launch. I had an older version for years and it worked fine. Once I installed the new version I can't get past the initial splash screen. I get the 6% loading limewire sometimes and others I can get to 12% loading HTML engine but I can never get past that point on launching the new limewire. Can anyone give me some advice I how to get it working again.

I cannot run 4.18 on my new mac. Try swapping the java versions around. Could also try deleting the LW preferences folder. Other than that, I'd suggest go back to an older version.

Sorry for late response, but I had worse problems myself.

I've tried dumping everything too, with Mac OX 10.5 and Limewire Pro AND 4/18. Nothing works. Do I have to use an old version of LW and where do I get it?

I need to test some things, I have same problem. I haven't got around to it yet. If you wish an older version, send me a PM (personal message) by clicking on my user name & choosing that option. LW4.16, request download ticket, then download link. This is only a temporary link.

I must warn, LW 4.16 does have 'some' bugs. But at least it works for me.

The only thing that has worked for me so far was to install OSX onto a different drive. LW 4.18 worked fine on there. But I'm going through settings (when I get time) to try to work out which ones are at fault on the main system.

Probably because you are attempting to install a Windows version LimeWire on a Mac OSX operating system.

Sorry but perhaps you are using Windows, this is the Mac OSX section.

Sounds like your original java installation might be semi corrupt in any case. Remove Java, clean registry, then reinstall Java using OFFLINE only Java installer, then reinstall LW using offline only LW installer. Please do not continue your topic in this Mac OSX section.
