limewire won't relaunch

I had a message saying the limewire shut down unexpectedly and I guess I did not eject before turning the computer off. It gives the options of relaunch, send report, and ignore. When I click relaunch it just keeps giving me the same message even when the message turns to reset and relaunch. I will not work either.I have tried to trash limewire and reload it but....nothing changes. Help?

Which OSX version are you using? Which version of LW?

1. Do a Safe boot & repair permissions, then reboot normally. See SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions (ignore the File System Check and Repair (fsck) for now)

2. Whilst LW is closed, delete your LW preferences folder, instructions here: Deleting LW Preferences folder in OSX

If still no good, report back. Stief might have some ideas. :)

Let's see what suggestions Stief has. At this point he is not using LW 5 however he might have some suggestions all the same.

My only other suggestions would be to remove the install limewire.pkg file from the library folder & reinstall LW. Receipts folder sample image. Other than that, trying LW in a separate account to see if same problems. And last suggestion would be downgrading to LW 4.18, however let's see if Stief has any suggestions first. :)

Oh ... one more suggestion, go to menu bar, top-left corner click on Apple icon & you will see a menu appear. Choose Software Update to see if any updates are ready for you. :) Sample image here Updating Apple software such as Java.

No additional specific solutions here, sorry. LOTR has the main ones already covered (installing in a new account is probably not practical)

However, the latest version of 5.1 was just released, and helped one other 10.5 user. Maybe that will work.
