Default Pro install

I just purchased the pro version and even if I delete the old version it will never launch the pro version 5.12 I've downloaded from the website. What is going wrong?

The installer will not open or it refuses to install?
Which OSX version do you have?
How old is your computer & is it an intel mac?

Reason I am asking it LW 5 will not run on non-intel macs. And need OSX 10.5 so you have Java 1.6 which LW 5 needs.

10.6 10a286. It looks like it installs but nothing happens after that. When I launch limewire it is the regular non pro version.

When you purchase Pro, you should receive an email from LW sales/support which will have a link to your personal pro download page which you should bookmark for easy access.

OSX 10.6? I was not aware Snow Leopard had been released yet. You can find out via the apple icon top left of screen, choose About This Mac

It hasn't. I did download it from that email website. I click install and it installs but nothing is in the folder but there is no file in there with the pro version of limewire

No LW program inside the LW program folder? Sorry I'm a little confused as to what's happening. Did you install LW onto your main OSX system hard disk drive or another drive? If installed onto a different drive, the installer will create an Applications folder & install LW inside of that.

LW installer will tend to install in its own way. Have you checked the main Applications folder for LW?

Inside the limewire folder under applications I "Copying" "limewire at loggin" and "Source" "Copying" and "source" look like linux files limewire at loggin opens and then closes. If I search the HD I find a limewire but it is the old version. I can delete that file and the limewire program itself and install a new one but there is nothing in the folder but the above mentioned files.

erm .. there should not be any old version on the computer. Normally LW will uninstall any older version at the beginning of installation process.

Are you sure you have reasonably new intel mac computer? Go to Java preferences & see if Java 1.6 is listed; sample image how to find: Setting up Java for Leopard (see 2nd sample image)

Try this, remove the install limewire.pkg file from the Receipts folder. Trash the old version of LW. Trash the LW install folder with only a few files inside. Then try installing again. Receipts folder sample image
