I just downloaded the newest limewire pro and it won't run

My old edition of limewire failed a few days ago. (about the time that the new Java release came out for Leopard.) I purchase the latest edition and after the install the icon bounces once and disappears from the dock. It never opens. I have thrown away the new version and reloaded it. The result is still the same. A quick bounce in the dock and then nothing. I am currently running the most current version of all apple releases on my system. (leop 10.5.7)
It is a macbook with maxed out memory and 500 gig drive.

Don't know how to proceed.

Thanks for your help.

I confirm I have the same problem.
Running the latest updated version of Mac OSX 10.5.7 with latest Java version available.
Installed latest version of Limiwire .... it doesn't start... seems to depend on the update of Java.
any idea?
thanks all.

Hi
I had the same problem too, but found a way out... I suppose that you downloaded the 5.1.3 LW Pro version...

First of all, remove the install limewire.pkg from the receipts folder.

Second, the Java update should to be done again with the standalone update from the apple website http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...05update4.html . Quit ALL apps before running the update. Reboot, repair authorisations.
Check if LW launches

If not throw it away and download the 5.2.2 beta version LimeWire 5.2.2 (Beta) - Lime Wire. This worked with me and I hope it does for you. If not please come back with more details. If you payed for a new Pro version, you probably still have the link to this page. If yes, you can find on this page the link to the 5.2.2 Pro beta
