I have a Mac G4 with OS 8.6. I will soon be adding a CDRW drive and was thinking of downloading some music. I have loaded LimeWire 4.5 onto my computer and though I would try to find a song just to try it out. I was not that lucky!!!

It opened just fine & I was online. I entered the info. about the song as requested in the boxes on the left side of the screen. When I tried to hit the "SEARCH" button at the bottom, the button was shaded and could not be pressed!!

I then noticed at the top of the screen the word "DISCONNECTED" I then went to the "CONNECTIONS" tabe at the top, but had no idea what I was looking at or if any action on my part was required.

I'm sure it is a classic case of user error. Can you help or advise?

are you behind a firewall, router, or proxy server? are you connecting from work, home, or school? are you sure you are not being blocked from the Gnutella network?

Try going to the File menu and choose "Connect." Now does it work?

By the way, you should check out http://www.xlr8yourmac.com if you haven't already. Check their drive compatability database to see what CD RW drives will work in your machine.
