This same error has been posted 3 or 4 times. Nobody seems to know what it means or how to fix it.

Does that mean I'm just screwed & unable to use Limewire?

Not necessarily. There are alot of people using 2.5.5. I'm not because it took so long to load my files. But, I've read (here) that after they are loaded once, it loads quicker the next time. I just haven't gotten around to trying it again.

But, as for what the error message means, we've (those who've posted it) have received no answer as to what it means. I think someone posted something about it having to do with Java. Read around this (Mac Installation) forum, you might find it. I know it isn't very old.

I've been getting this error too (I get 2 non-fatal errors) , but it doesn't appear to affect the operation of the program.

One problem is that the OS9 version of Java is 1.1.8 whereas on OSX and Windows, the latest versions are 1.3.1 and 1.4 respectively. So not all of the LW code written for the later versions of Java works on the OS9 version of Limewire.
