![]() I have recently installed LimeWire successfully on an iMac using system 9.0.4 Everything seems to be working well -- I can download various things (e.g. videos), but I am unable to see anything I have downloaded. When I hit on "launch", nothing happens or I get an error message saying there has been an internal error running LimeWire, but it should recover. I am requested to copy a text and email it to bugs@limewire.com Unfortunately, there is no way I can copy the message from my LimeWire application to my email system amd the message is far too long to retype. It begins: LImeWire version 2.8.6Java version 1.1.8 from Apple Computer,Inc. Mac OS v 9.0.4 and so forth. I would like to make LimeWire work for me and would greatly appreciate any suggestions. fishinglure |

![]() Check if your Java (should be Apple MRJ 2.2.5--check your Utilities folder) is up to date for starters, and upgrading to OS 9.1 or better (as much as you can) will help. Your LW error message should have had a "copy" button on the error dialog box, or alllow you to click in the message and select all/copy. Successful downloads can be found in the folder "Shared", so search for it on your HD. Then just drop the files on QuickTime player or whatever program you use to play your files. Rebuilding the desktop can't hurt, and might help the Launch button set the defaults. A newer version of LW is in the testing stages now, so all this could change pretty quickly. |

![]() You're welcome. iTunes pretty well takes care of audio files, and for video that Quicktime doesn't like, vlc from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ is rough but quite versatile. Post the extensions of other files (and any updated system/java versions) and someone should be able to help further. |

![]() Why would you want to launch stupid music? Real music files are about 4 megs or more, but the spam/virus stuff downloads much quicker since it pretends to be a music file just to get you to download it. You're lucky to be on mac, or you'd likely end up with the "german porn dialler" (search for this to see more). DON'T SHARE those spam files or you'll be hated! It's a good idea to check out all the files you download, and only leave tested files in your shared folder. The junk/incomplete/corrupt stuff propogates so quickly because it's small and too many people download anything that might look interesting. |
