Unhappy First Run Help

I just downloaded and installed Limewire 2.9.8 from Limewire.com, but when I try to open the program, I get a "Fatal System Error" message window. The text reads:

Unable to launch Java application --- Unable to locate the application's "main" class. The class ".com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main." must be public and have a "public static void Main(String[])" method. (LAX)

I have the most recent version of MRJ from Apple, and I'm using a G4 Powerbook on MacOS 9.2.2. Is there anything I can do to have Limewire work?

Thanks for your help.

Default Same problem - First run help

Im having te same probmlem as "First run help' I don't know much about java...but ive found the file where this content is "LimeWire.lax" its in the limewire folder...

# LAX.MAIN.CLASS
# --------------
# the class that contains the main method for the application

lax.main.class=com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main

# LAX.MAIN.
# ---------------
# the method in the main class that will be invoked

lax.main.method=main

the warning is saying that

The class 'com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main' must be public and have a 'public static void main(String[])' method. (LAX)

Does anyone know what we have to do??

Do we alter the limewire.lax

Where are all the javaheads....?????

any help would be appreciated...thx
Todd

DOWNLOAD THE OLDER VERSION YOU WERE USING.
The new version obviously does not work on our Macs.

Default older FW version

I went all the way back to 2.6.5
That version works as well as it ever has for me.
I will use the older version until LW comes up with fix for the Fatal Apps
Error within the 2.9.8 version.
Hope that solves your problem.

Thanks for the tip to trash version 9.8 and the link for older versions of LimeWire. I went to version 8.6 and it's working as it did before the upgrade.
