I just read your first post again. It seems like you have an extension problem. Since you can run LimeWire just fine with extensions off. Try disabling extensions that might interfere with LimeWire. This is all I can think of now. Good luck. Just to let you know here are the Minimum System Requirements for LimeWire:
  • 64 MB RAM
  • Any of the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, Me, 2000, XP
    Mac Classic 8.1 or later
    Mac OSX
    Linux
    Unix such as Solaris
  • A live connection to the Internet

No time

I don't have to spend much time to get rid of each individual extension and to reboot for testing which extension is cause of the problem.
One weird thing happend in my PC is that;
reboot (with shift key) --> LW can install and run.
All extension off ( using extensions manager) and reboot --> LW doesn't work.
Thank you for helping me, anyway.

Someone told me that this might help you. He recalls ram doubler having another file (invisible?) in the system folder. It would take two restarts to get rid of all Ram doubler effects once you managed to remove all the pieces from the system folder. Go under the Apple menu and come down to Sherlock. After it comes up search for ram doubler. You can either delete it completely or disable it. I would just delete it if I were you. but its up to you. Then click the Edit button in Sherlock . The top of the window will say "More Search Options" Go to "Advanced Options" and check the first box where it says is: invisible. and search for ram doubler again.

Thanks!

Thanks!
You guys are very helpful but I gave up LW with OS9.

I am sorry to hear that you gave up on LimeWire. You just have to startup with extensions off if you want to use LimeWire. No problem Ton, glad I could help you.

Not Yet!

Yo' Ton

LW really does work great with OS9. I've run LW on 9.1/.2.1 and currently use 9.2.2 with LW 3.8. I think that perhaps you may have one of two problems or maybe both. First of all, re-download LW and reinstall. It is possible that some javascript in your current LW became corrupted. Secondly, you may have an extension conflict and those are very common. If a conflict is the problem, all you need to do is make sure that extension is disabled whenever you use LW. Let us know what happens.
