Default Downloads types

I have had no problems with downloads before until recently. Before all my files would come as MP3 files, now they come as Real Player documents. Is there something that got changed on my pref or what, any ideas?

Default MP3 to RealPlayer ?

RealPlayer plays mp3 files too. If what you want to know how to have something other to open your mp3 files it is easy. Depends what program. Yes, sometimes those preferences get changed. Most of the time go to the preferences of the program you want to open your mp3's. iTunes you open itunes and open preferences. Find the setting to use for internet playback. Check it your done. Check it out, need more help, os and program you wish to open them would help.

I think I might have not made this clear. When I download a file from Limewire, it used to go to my folder as a MP3, now it comes as a Realplayer file. So Iam not sure if the limewire person on the other end is sending Realplayer or I have something wrrong on my Limewire connection. Do you know what I am talking about now. Thanks for the help!

Default It may appear that way

So they look like a RealPlayer file when you look at them. It doesn't matter. They end like anysong.mp3 or are they anysong.rm They are still mp3's if it is .mp3 it is just a matter of changing what you want to open them with. As long as the extention is .mp3 or .MP3 they are mp3's. What did you open them with before? That was what they looked like and opened with before didn't they? Sometimes the Preferences get screwed up. If someone has a RealPlayer or QuickTime mp3 that you download, the owner Application will change to iTunes or any other kind of mp3 file you want. They are all mp3's. It is just the application that owns the file that you need to change. That will change how they look and what opens it. If they are really RealPlayer (that's .rm) files that can be changed too. Or RealPlayer mp3's (the ones it has already laid claim to) that can also be changed. Then again maybe I'm just confused on what it is your trying to say. In any case, good luck.
