I followed your directions explicitly with one exception: I came across a file named NeoWebCache.net . Should I delete that file as well? I am still not connecting.

You still not connect,i advise you to Go to this location on Gnutella Forum: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gnucle...-gnucleus.html ,and download Gnuclues webcache and gnucache...Now take gnucache and rename it to MorphCache and webcache be renamed to WebCache.....You take now MorphCache and WebCache and copy to the loction programdata- and not to the same place where you installed Morpheus on...Because Morpheus doesent read that data folder from where you installed it,but from her: C:\Documets and settings\User\programdata\Morpheus\Data.I hope this will help some way,and make you connect-it workes for me very time!:rolleyes_2: PS: The Neo net cache file are not in use-because soon as you connect to the network neo net will follow,can take some time-but it will connect!

Thanks so much for responding. All went well until I tried to move the new files to
C:\Documets and settings\User\programdata\Morpheus\Data.
Is there an alternative or someplace special I can look.? And if/when I do this am I to delete the existing caches?


Thanks again for trying to walk me through this.....I lost my pc last week and feel pretty lucky I was able to get a copy of the Morpheus from a site, because everywhere I tried, the link was broken....I didnt think I would ever get it back!

Please tell me wich version of Morpheus you use now!I used the ad supported version 5.3,i cleaned out first hehehe before i use it !It is the non restricted version!You can have it if you want!I also have Morpheus Ultra with working crack too.....:whistling: I gonna try to reinstall my ad supported version and i will check it all the way so i dont tell you to do somthing wrong just to be sure!:D

Yes, I have the 5.3 . Its the one I like the best, the ads dont bother me. I guess I am just a creature of habit.

Ok her vi go! First i will recomend you to uninstall it and make a clean install,and do not remove enny thing,unless My Morpheus Toolbar-this one you dont need it,its spy/adware! Lets say you install Morpheus on C:\progarmfiles\Morpheus.Make sure Morpheus is not runing,if Morpheus does-shutt it down now! Now make sure you enabled the function for see hidden folders and files verry importent! To do this you go to start\control panel\Appearance and Personalization and enter Folder Option.Click view and enable Show hidden files and folders!So fare so good,now you do as i told you to do and rename the files exactly as i show it to you before...I might give you the wrong place to put them. Her are the right place to put them: C:\Documents and Settings\Roy\programdata\Morpheus.Where i put the name Roy it will be your name or user....Copy the MorpCache and WebCache to that destination as i showed it to now!You should get a message about to replace/overwrite the existing files,you should click yes and owerwrite it!Now start Morpheus and it should connect in seconds and Neo network will usaly come after 10-20 min...This is all you have to do!:xeri_ok1ani:

OK, FileGirl, Ive started the process with your suggestion. I have uninstalled Morpheus, now just waiting to get the program again. Hopefully, I wont run into any problems getting it again. Thank you for your advice, I will be keeping my fingers crossed!

Yes it was me on the PB,yepp you right about that....I can give the Morpheus 5.3 installer if you want,no problem for me....So no need to download it again from PB as i did....Then you allways have it...I will send you the link and i will give you updated cache too!

To use the above link's, follow these instructions: Select the Morpheus you wanna install, and click on the link! A new window open up, and click on a blue button named "Download Now"...Click on it and wait 10 seconds, and you will see the download link! And you click download,and now you can select where on your hard drive you gona save the Morpheus installer to!Then it will download the installer to your hard drive! After that you know what to do with the file... ;-))

EDIT: Sorry Lord of the Rings for destroying your good show how to download from ifile.it,but i have choose another host location now...The ifile.it was to unstable,and more offline then online for the Morpheus/Gnucleus installers! Neede more reliable hosting service so people can actually download the files from her on....

Neo take some time to connect for the first time.
Just use it normally, do searches and start downloading stuff .
Connecting/disconnecting wont help,might make it worse.
You probably get connected easier by setting up port forwarding on the router and assign static listening port number in Morpheus preferences->connection setting.
And make sure to enable G2 for more search results.

morpheus was the greatest p2p...i hope ur morpheus 5.3 and 5.2 ultra will be a popular p2p ...............

you can also enable UPnP support on Morpheus in preferences tab, and go to start click controlpanel so go to security and open windows firewall on your pc,enable the UPnP option it if it not allready done so....If that is not working for you, then disable the entire windows firewall,since it is not a firewall really,but a filter only!
Morpheus5X is right on do not restart Morpheus at all,it just make it worse...Just lat it stay so will Neo Net finally connect,it can take all from 10min to 1 hour before it will connect first time!Gnutella connect in secondes!

Yup , using upnp is easier and i think it is enabled by default during Morpheus installation.No need to use fixed port number or setup router forwarding.
But you have to check if the router supports upnp.
If it does , then you might need to enable/turn on in the router setup page.
Normally you can do this by going to http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 , some routers might use other addreses e.g 192.168.0.100
To check upnp is working correctly on your system, open Control Panel-Network Connections.
You should see Internet Connection or Gateway device listed in there.

Hi!:)Well Morpheus Ultra 5.2.3 does not connect to G2 by default,but it should have done that-agree!Can be difficult since Morpheus Ultra are prefixed so it installs two exe files....I can see what i can do about it!Morpheus 5.3.0 basic don't share in his folder,i only know my first installers had problme with adding shared folders....Thats should be allready fixted,but if somthing els you must enlighten me with moore details and what is happen!I gonna install Morpheus 5.3.0 tonight,then i will see what happen!It can also be a safty issue,since Morpheus by default use My Documents as default download and share directory...But it can of course be a bugg as well,we see!:rolleyes_2:

PS: If you dont add enny files in the default shared directory it will not share from there,thats how the works!It will only share from the folders you adding,no buggs so fare!

thanks a lot. you are great too you fixed the best p2p and i hope you will fix these bugs ...because the most of the internet user's aren't very smart ...and it will be not easy to show them how they enbale G2
and i tried a search without G2 only few results so morpheus needs G2 (shareaza) enabled ....
maybe morpheus basic will work much more better because G2 enbaled by default but i tried again ...he don't share in his folder so when you restart morpheus again he don't find the files...he share the files in C:\

I just installed Morpheus ultra onto Windows 2000, connected straight away. Set to connect to G2, connected fine AFAIK. ie: 5 G1 (gnutella), 3 G2 hosts. If anything it was struggling to connect with Neo.

Some tips to get better results:

1. Morpheus can be forced into ultrapeer mode , connecting up to 32 other UPs (LW,Frost,Bear etc - it connects to all ) - if your internet is fast enough and will help others to connect.
In Preferences-Networks , theres a force gnutella ultrapeer/G2 hub options.
This should get you more results.

2. Also ensure the network status (lower left corner next to the status icons) says 'Connected' and NOT 'Firewalled'.If firewalled you get very poor search results , and problems downloading files.

3. Use fixed listening port , by default Morpheus assign random port every time it starts.In Preferences-Connection , you'll see 'Set incomin gnutella port..'.Click on its checkbox (make it ticked) and key in port number to use in the textbox on its right.I found port 6346 or 6348(same as Shareaza/Bearshare uses) gives me better results but you can use others.

4. Use a ip blocklist to block spam/hostile anti-p2p peers.
4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download MorphBlocked.net.zip
This is taken from Bluetack blocklist (bogon+badpeers+gnutella lists) .
I've used Blocklist Manager to convert into Morpheus/GnucDna format.
To use this blocklist :
- Exit Morpheus , program must be closed before updating the file.
- Extract MorphBlocked.net from the zip file to temp folder or desktop.
- Right click on My Computer and select explore . Go to this folder , C:\Documents and Settings\*user\Application Data\Morpheus
or
C:\Documents and Settings\*user\Application Data\Morpheus Ultra
*user is your Windows user profile e.g Administrator if you logon/run windows as Administrator
-Copy MorphBlocked.net from temp folder or desktop
That's it , done .
To check that you've done correctly - Start Morpheus , go to Preferences-Block , you'll see list of hundreds of thousands of ip address.
Once you've done all these , you'll get very few spam/fake results and lot more real files.

Thanx Morpheus5x!:) Cool blocklist you made,only you need to update it 2-3 times in a week,if you will have the same good continued effect as now!!!Thats way i use Peer Guardian 2 with 7 lists,and i think you must include the filter list for Fakers as well...Thats those client/hubs/ultrapeers that sending fake or fals information so you will not download enny files,or you get a totall different files then you put to download......But don't get me wrong i will test it out enny way,and i hope you can keep it updated as well!!!!:idea:Thats cool!!!! Well royobanen the are no bugs with Morpheus 5.3.0 basic installer as you think!I am 100% sure you installed the Morpheus Ultra first then uninstalled it then installede Morpheus basic!Now did you remove the registry key for Morpheus in Windows???? I don't think so,ihave once the same issue for Morpheus Ultra it diden't wanna share even the folders where added,but it was my previouse Morpheus regkey that played this joke on me back then...Go to C:\WINDOWS\regedit and open by dobble click on it,now click on edit and serach for...type in Morpheus Ultra or Morpheus then let it search for the key,then you delete the keys it findes,but you need to find all of the key-it will let you now when all the key is gone!!!!Yo need to manually delete the Morpheus/Morpheus Ultra key from your registry to avoid things like this happen to you!!!I hope this will help you solve the probleme for you,i will point out that the Morpheus Ultra is fare moore better then the basic one...For better performance just follow Morpheus5x's advice above,then you will have a better working Morpheus as well!For the Morpheus Ultra is not possible to pre enable the G2 network as it was for the basic one...I have working on the installer whole day with out enny sucsess so fare-sorry!I will assume most of the old as new Morph users are not that dumb a$$e$ out there so the will find the way to the Preferneces tab and thats easy if you like to click on things....Don't worry they will figure it out!!!Happy Morphing enny ways!:laugh_2:

Morpheus so easy to use,maybe the easiest .They designed the interface to be simple,uncluttered.

Newer not always better
 

Shown below is comparison Morpheus 5.3.0.1038 vs 5.3.0.1042.
The older build 1038 connects to 3 Gnutella/G1 ultrapeer in leaf mode,
just like the paid Ultra version.
Newer build 1042 however connects to only 1 G1 ultrapeer.
After searching the web , the 5.3.0.1038 setup cannot be found anymore.
Good news is that i found Morpheus 5.3.0.1042 can be changed to build 5.3.0.1038 by copying the core dll file , M5Shell.dll , from the older build into Morpheus installation directory, c:\program files\morpheus
The older(1038) dll i got from friends PC :

After copying into the program files\morpheus , need to re-register the dll :
Click on Start->Run
Type in -> regsvr32 "c:\program files\morpheus\m5shell.dll"
Click on ok.

no guarantee it 100%

morpheus will not connect to the internet. 5.2.3
had a problem with it a few years ago and just recently redownloaded again. im running verizion dsl.

I have read the message you send me... I f i understand you correct, you have some connection issue with Morpheus Ultra 5.2.3 from this forum!!!
Normaly you should not have that, but i think it has some thing to do with your previous Morpheus installation which was Morpheus 5.2 beta...The are never a good ide to install Morpheus Ultra on a computer, which have a Morpheus beta installed before... This is only causing troubble for you, but i will help you enny way as i can :rolleyes_2: I will also need some more info from you...

1.) Which Widows are you trying to run Morpheus on?

2.) Do you have a firewall or a router?

3.) Have you removed all previous Morpheus folders and registry keys, before you installed Morpheus 5.2.3?

And please tell me more about what you did from you started to you try run Morpheus for connect to the networks!!! :idea:

Might be a firewall issue.Seems like a firewall is blocking your Morpheus from making or accepting connections.

If you use software firewall like ZoneAlarm Pro , you need to Morpheus to trusted , and allow to act as server.
Other firewalls like Outpost should have similiar settings and you'll need to change them similiarly.

i have windows firewall but it is disabled due to my av which has its own firewall.
im running windows xp and i havent installed morpheous in years except for the other day. my computer has been cleaned out from all previous installations of all applications*
i personally think it could be my router because i have dsl, and/or my firewall.
if someone can figure it out i have aim and vnc.

i really would love to have morpheous it is the best app ive used, a lot less virus's and etc that limewire frost, etc..

Did you add Morpheus to the firewall exceptions of AV? Add both TCP & UDP exceptions as sub-rules. Make sure Window's firewall is disabled. ;)

Well, this is not easy to figur out-until we get the fact on the table for sure.... And thanx to the good Lord of the Rings for provide a verry good list with things we need to now before we can help you out!!! It seems it can be a firewall issue in your router or modem.... If Morpheus had acess to the networks and did not have enny incoming connections, it would have complained to you about it... Please give us some more facts then we will be able to help you out, use the links from the Lord of the Rings in the post above-then give us some more to go on...

10. Where are you trying to connect from? House
11. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Verizon
12. What country are you living in? USA
Other information:
13. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? uTorrent
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Idk
15. Has anything in your setup changed recently? Have you updated your program version or Java? Have you added any new software or new hardware? Have you updated any software? Have you moved house, changed internet plan or ISP etc etc.? No

This is gonna be tough to troubleshoot.
Something seem to be blocking Morpheus connections , either Bitdefender firewall or at the router .

Try use Active Ports , this program displays all network connections and programs that are making those connections -

After you download ActivePorts , close all browser , message/chat and all other open programs.
Install and run Active Ports ,
then start Morpheus .
In the ActivePorts monitor window , you can verify if Morpheus is listed in active connections and able to make internet connections.

I would use active ports, it would help you to se if Morpheus is trying to connect at all... Or totally being blocked out from even try to connect... I think the problem is your antivirus or your router is the main problem her... Have you try to enable upnp option in Morpheus??? To do that you go to Preferences Tab and click on it, now go to internet connection on the menu...Enable all the options you se and of course you have to use upnp to... Click Apply and Ok! Restart Morpheus then we se.... If your router is set to use upnp bye default, Morpheus will try to use it... ;-)) EDIT: You could also try to disable your antivirus software just for a short time befor you start Morpheus... If Morpheus connecting it would be the reason, so you need to reconfigure it.... :-))

Problem with the latest installers from StreamCast Networks was only "Smart Installers" and it downloaded from server, and now it's all gone... Sad but true! If you knew some one have it or we can some how get the files, i would be happy!:rolleyes_2: I will soon put up in the this forum a request for installers/compleat files of Morpheus/Morpheus Ultra... Hope users will see it and give it to us, we do not have much time left to get our hands on them!!!

Using your Morpheus client why not click the "chat" button and come a long and say hi sometimes to everyone still using Morpheus.
