Lightbulb Audio books?

I don't know if there are audio books within the taudio catergory but it would be nice to have an icon just for that along with more audio books.

Cool Audio Book Lovers Unite

I just discovered the fact that audio books are available. Wow, was I excited. Then I found out that you can only get parts of books, hardly ever the whole thing. Even more disappointing is coming to the last juicy part and find that some prankster has substituted his/her own ending to the book.

This is just mean.

I wish it were easier to download audio books. There is a genre drop down menu for music, why not for books? Maybe someday it will be a snap but right now audio books are just not popular enough.

It sure makes commuting easier when you have a book to listen to!

Ursula is the best one to ask about audiobooks. Audiobooks come in different formats. Some as mp3, some as m4a & some as m4b & I think .aa standing for aac format. You might need to add some of these into the extensions for LW. ie: LW's menu, Tools>Options>Sharing & shared extensions. ie: if you share them you can search & downld them.

Cool Thanks!

Thank you for those audio file hints. Now, if you don't mind, would you answer another LimeWire question? It concerns the downloading process.

Q: How do you move the 100% completed files from the Download area to the Library? Even when I do a Refresh (under Library) the completed files take their jolly good time leaving the Download section. It's a small price to pay for what we are getting but I thought, "What the heck." why not ask someone who knows their stuff.

Thanks!

By default, the downld folder is called 'Shared' (unless you changed the name as I did lol ) And by default this folder is shared. So it should appear in the Library window. Although the Saved Files folder appears in the Lib window, this is purely a reference folder to show most recently downlded files. It's not a shared folder (as you'll notice all files inside are in red text.)

The Library shows shared folders with the exception of the Saved Files folder, & incomplete folder (sharing depending upon whether sharing partial files option is checked.)

To know how to add shared folders, see these 1. How to Share Folders (click on link), & also 2. Advanced Share options

BTW when files are 100% downlded, LW moves them from the incomplete folder to the downld folder. How long it takes depends on file size (& perhaps how busy LW is at that time.) Videos will obviously take quite a while longer than mp3's for example.)

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to help me become an advanced LW user. Your answer sets my mind at ease so I can go on to the next dilemma.

On a whim I got Bearshare Pro (just throwin' my money around) and now I wonder if I did the right thing. I hate the skins on it and can't find any way to get them to look like LW. I like LW's black with white lettering. I miss LW's green one.

I know I will have to be patient with myself and learn Bearshare slowly and well or go off the deep end and pull all my hair out. I'm just so spoiled with LW. The only reason I got Bearshare is for the audio books. OK, OK, I'm sure I will use it for more than that.

How does one shorten Bearshare without using the obvious abbreviation? Just wondering.

Thanks again. What would we newbies do w/o guys like you!?!

Well ... I also use the obvious abbreviation ... but I'm also new at BS so I'm not the best one to ask questions about it. The best 2 mods to ask questions about it are Ursula & Peerless. Although Ursula has been away for a time, I received a pm from Ursula 2 days ago that they will be back regularly very shortly. Let's hope that's the case as Ursula is a very experienced forum campaigner & BS user. You're free to send either of them a pm.
