But i agree with this...

Searching on Filesize dont work, and it must work...
For update of limewire, they must make something like:
File must be bigger than < input >
File must be smaller than < input >

And not just doing it in the searchbar...

I was downloading some DBGT videos, the filesize was about 60Mb... well i just type in kbytes by Filesize... and it just search in the filename... so that really sucks...

Even though a file size filter has been heavily requested and is the only way to get rid of junk, Limewire still has not done it. The junk filter, even on the strictest setting allows the same files I marked as junk to show up again as not junk. I accidentally started a download of one of these fake tiny files and cancelled it in time. It then showed up in a search with the same word used. There was the icon next to it identifying it as a file I had cancelled in progress. If Limewire can recognize that I cancelled the download of this file, then they certainly can recognize it as the same file I marked as junk. Given these glaring facts, I am faced with an obvious conclusion. Limewire has no desire to get rid of junk. This leads me to a potential motivation on their part. I am not saying this is certain, but I do find it likely. They get paid for this. Their junk filter is garbage and their excuse for no file size filter is that they are working on a spam filter? Please, Limewire, don't bother. Work on a filesize filter. Countless users have requested this.

A discussion I had with one of the LW developers a couple years back was they didn't wish to bring in a size filter for the purpose of spam because spammers would simply make their spam larger. Well, spammers have already started doing this, so I guess that excuse falls by the way side now. The size filter has many purposes & some 'other' gnutella programs do have size filters for search results.

The fact is, it does not matter if someone is searching copyright material or not nowadays, junk will still show up in their search results.

A size filter I think was the first thing I requested in the main Requests thread some years ago.

I do my best to aid. The bitcollider is a wonderful tool. To the best of my knowledge, as long as you do not open the file, it can not harm you. I have been purposely downloading files with no review and then rating them as the crap they are. If they are a good file, I rate them as such. Apparently Limewire will not implement a filesize filter, so I do my part in identifying this to the people who bother to do a Bitzi lookup. I have noticed that a file without the first frame showing up is a fake file. Any legitimate video file should have an icon of the first frame of the video. As long as you have the proper codecs. Which I do.

Calabrese,

Thank you for contributing to the Bitzi database.
I have a few videos that have been edited so that the first frame is black. They play just fine, though I usually chop off the blank so an image will show in thumbnail view.
