| I just compare with my own region... I have home, just for 30 euro, u have max 70kb/s upload speed. other packets: 20 euro, 35kb/s. 30 euro, 70kb/s. 50 euro, 140kb/s. The people who has modem, and have a lower upload speed then 25kb/s, it will just slow down. So from 25kb/s, it will be maybe 10kb/s. And if LW works with points, it will take a little longer to get 1 point. Im not agree with blocking everyone who hasnt 25kb/s upload speed... but in the option, the lowest what u can fill in must be 25kb/s. This way people can download at full speed! I dont even understand why LW put that 'changing uploadspeed'-thing in option... Everyone that downloads must also share things! Thats what i think about it Last edited by JohnnySlater; December 31st, 2006 at 11:23 AM. |

| Couldn't limewire just monitor the connection speeds and set the upload rate accordingly, or ask what kind of a connection a user has and use that to create the limits. Eg, if a user selects '56k modem' the upload speed would be lowered, but the download speed could also be capped to the limits of that kind of connection. That would even things out for people who try to share less, as by choosing 'modem' they lower both their upload and download rates.. Edit: The current controls in the "options" menu could still be used, with 100% of download/upload bandwidth reflecting the amount of the maximum abilities of chosen connection type, and vica-versa, though upload limits obviously bottoming out at a respectable amount before they become too low dependant on the connection meh.
