Same Functinality? So, let me get this straight. In the case of grouped search resulta, "download any" and "download all" work the same? I think the answer to the question "Do we combine the buttons" is self evident. Yes. |
dhahran_ksa: yes, if you select a group, download any/all do the same thing. The power of "download any" comes when the grouper was unable to group similar things. We're probably going to take out the download any button in the next release. We may create an expert option to re-enable it for users who miss it. -Christopher Rohrs |
Hey, as long as you leave the one that swarms, everybody's happy! |
The choice causes too much confusion I personaly have never seen the need to use the download any button. I think it causes more confusion than it's worth. Just tweak the download all option, rename it to download, and do away with download any. |
i use All, but often, after i have successfully downloaded one of the files, some of the others remain in "incomplete" and i have to manually delete them. |
Wow. Now that I understand what it is for, the download any button is (or would have been, it's gone now) incredibly useful. Say I'm looking for a rare song, and I get results in 6 different bitrates. I could start them all, and cancel the rest when one finishes, or I could use the download any button. It would then try them all until one finishes. It's brilliant. Really. I hope you put the option back in. Or maybe I will myself. Wish I'd known what it did earlier. |
Well, I got tired of waiting (two days ;) ) and reenabled it myself. My personal version of AquaLime now has the download any button once more, in all its glory. thanks for the explanation of what it does, I don't want to be without it now. |
Hey, you know what? I just noticed they took out the "Clear Inactive" button for the downloads. it's still there for uploads though. I am going to put that back for sure! Just have not had the time as of late :( |
I want the "download any" feature returned. Say you have a partial download you wish to resume. You do a search and you get five hits. Four have the same name, the fifth a different one. If you connect to the fifth, then the download will start as a new file. I have used the "ungroup" feature, selected the ones I wanted, then hit the "download any" to make sure that only those files with identical names are grouped together in a swarmed dl. |
