Some of the mpegs I've downloaded are easily opened by QT 6 -- I have a mac with OS 9.2, btw -- but a few I've recently downloaded cannot be opened by QT, or even Windows Media Player 7 for the mac.


Any suggestions?

I get alot of those. When I try to use the Open funtion in QT, it says the mpeg is missing software that is not available. Sure wish I knew what it was missing...

Some Mpeg's where recorded in the MPEG 2 playback format.To play those you will need to purchase Quicktime 6 PRO and a special additional MPEG 2 playback component that only functions togheter with the english version of Quicktime 6 PRO.This sure sucks!

But it is a result of unknowledgeable people that just are not good at encode and edit video files.They do not care much about it!.

Obviously they have not heard of the Media Cleaner 5 PRO application that works wonders on all sorts of files.!
