No search results

I'm new to the service, a friend told me about it. I've put in 15-20 searches for very mainstream artists and have not gotten 1 search result. Am I doing something wrong or is there virtually no searchable catalog to work with here? ie: no content on a big set of servers?

you're probably not doing anything wrong - the best quick/easy test is to search on "****** (or better yet "******* - if you don't get heaps and heaps of search results then something has probably gone wrong with your install

but - first check in the "connections" window - you should see connections to ultrapeers (at least 3) - if you have ultrapeer connections and you're getting results on the "******" search then you know you are workably connected into the gnutella network and then getting what you're after just depends on you being patient enough to wait for a conection to someone (via an ultrapeer - there is no central index like napster) who has what you're after

be patient and you'll almost certainly eventually get what you're after (and if its 'mainstream it'll be sooner rather than later)

stick with it (you'll be glad)
