How does one actually Download something????? I have tried for nearly an hour to download anything. all i get is the song appearing in the download window that says connecting. Then it stops and i get Requert sent, Waiting and it starts counting backwards from 299. I have used older versions of Lime wire in the past and it was much more reliable than this crap. if any one has an answer please e mail me at Edit. Thanx

The tricks I use are the following:

1. Setting my speed to T3 and maxing the number of connections in the connections window (only 12 in latest versions). This can give considerably more search results, although once your download is off and running, you should lower the number of connections again to reduce the use of bandwidth.

2. Repeating a search several times as hits vary continuously.

3. Killing and restarting a download will sometimes do the trick.

4. Using the reinstated Browse Host facility intelligently.
e.g. if you see a host with a file similar to what you want (same genre of music/same computer platform etc.) browse it and see if you get lucky.

If all of that fails, you can go back to one of the old versions, although P2P boffins say they're less Gnutella-friendly.

There also is no guarantee that the search result you attempt to download is coming from a host that is still connected to the internet. If they are not, the query will be resent and the program will wait for new results. (As it should.)

Setting ones speed to T3 if you indeed do not have a T3 connection is misleading and hurts the file sharing community. I filter out all connections below a cable modem (since this is what I have) and am not interested in trying to download from those without them) If you are misleading the community into thinking you actually have a T3 then my downloads from you are going to be painfully slower than what I am looking for.
