I want to share my files and enable searches on LW, I have check the enable box in the monitor section, but it says few or no searches will come thru because my client is shielded by an ultrapeer. How would I disable this feature

You can't disable this feature, but it does not shield you from queries for files that you might have. Your client creates a table of hashed keywords contained in all your shared files and sends it to the ultrapeer, so the ultrapeer can decide if a search could return any results from you without knowing what files you have exactly.

yeah.. I actually seem to have more people upload from me when I'm with "an ultra peer" than when I'm not. I just don't see the searches on screen... but who cares, I don't look at that anway.

It surely seems that way, for one I downloaded a very popular song to try to see if someone would "hit" me. Nope, no one did. Whats up with that?

You will receive queries after a while but that can take a couple of minutes to a couple of hours.
