I do not like Limewire takening up bandwidth to tell what the files I hover over with my mouse pointer. Can this be stopped.

Moving the mouse does not use bandwidth. You're probably confused about what the word bandwidth means, though.

To turn off tooltips in any table (which are what pop up when the mouse hovers over something), right-click (or control-click if you're on a Mac) on the column headers (the top row of the table that lists what each column is), choose 'More Options', and uncheck 'Display Tooltips'.
