LimeWire 1.6 is here! We are proud to announce that LimeWire 1.6 is now available for the general public at www.limewire.com! It has several improvements over 1.4:

Improved resumed downloads.
Measures speeds of remote hosts more accurately, displaying them in green if of high confidence.
Can launch files while they download.
New virtual machine should be much faster and more reliable.
Can minimize LimeWire into the system tray on WinNT/2k.
Improved push uploads and downloads.
Improved BearShare QHD compatibility.
Fixed bug downloading files with strange extensions.
Restores window size on startup.
Detects and warns of incompatible foistware (new.net) on install.
Thanks to everyone who helped us beta test this. (There are no changes since the beta release.) We hope you enjoy LimeWire! Sincerely, LimeWire Team |

I also get the tiny window upon startup that just says welcome. When I installed it on my first computer I played around with it for a few minutes clicking double clicking etc etc and finally just out of the blue the window resized to its proper size and I was able to proceed with the install. God only know what I did in order to get it to resize... LimeWire: Why the **** dont you just make the initial screen resizeable so we dont have to put up with this. Im trying to install limewire on my second computer and it cant get past the first install screen because the window is not big enough for me to press the "next" button and i cannot resize the window! |

Version 1.6 Apparently 1.6 doesn't download for me. I uninstalled version 1.4 and went to the main page, clicked on the download 1.6 icon. It installed ok but when I checked it it was still version 1.4b. What's wrong? Anybody got a clue? |
