hello i am brand new to this site and i love it, one question though, if you want to chat with someone who has the smiley chat lit up, how in heck do you do it, where does the dialogue window exist or does it? i tried to post this question yesterday and cant even find it. so help please. thanks

Beats me. I have never been able to get it to work. I suspect it does NOT work.

It does work... I think that it does not all the time because it can't make a connection to that host, just like when you cant always download from the first host you click on when downloading fiels.

btw--you can set your forum preferences to notify you of a reply--get at the settings in "Edit Options" when you click the "user cp" button at the top of each page.

you can also search for all your posts using the Search button and entering your user name, or just clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom of any of your posts.

You can also simply click on a 'user name' (including your own)...
When you click on a 'user name', you are taken directly to the basic user profile page which is available to the public...
You will find there options to send e-mail or Private Messages to a user here (If the user has allowed/enabled these options to be displayed.)
If there is a user with whom you would like to establish some 'chat', it may be easiest for you to first contact that user with a PM here in Gnutella Forums.

Also, on the upper right of the 'user profile page', you will see a line which says, "View all posts by this user"... A very useful little tool !

Last, be sure to check out the 'Forum Jump' feature down on the lower left at the bottom of every thread page here...
You can use it to navigate very quickly through and around Gnutella Forums...
AND, if you check out the options at the very top of the 'Forum Jump' menu, you will find some other interesting 'features' of these forums... You'll see...
