Splash image in LW .. ?!

Why are they so ugly.The previous one was much better.

BTW you can easily put any image you like :-) .I will post link to mine later.

I agree, the old LimeWire splash screen was slicker, brighter, more professional and just plain better. The new one looks like a step backward. It's the same situation with all the new skins; they're all horrendous compared to Classic. I guess with Limewire they got the look right the first time and shouldn't tinker.

I am interested in your comment about changing the splash screen to something else. How do you do that in Linux?

it is very easy to do.Go to your installation directory and do a ls -al . there you should see a .limewire/ directory.cd to .limewire/themes/.Have a quick look and choose you theme default_theme/ (or whatever your are using).rm splash.gif and put the one that you made (better to do it before that).

BTW have a look at the theme.txt file as well :-) .

A quick review of the above, use find -name .lime* to locate the directory.

It's pitty i don't know French :-).

I wanted to make Garbage , Metallica or The Cure ones but it would destract from the Lime Wire "logo".May do them just for fun.

Anyway if you create other splash screens, let us know, maybe a generic one with a guitar, drum or bass (or all on one) would do the trick? Funny you did a osx splash screen, I though you were on Linux (os x envy? )

Well, i am a linux user (Slackaware 9.0) but i did that splash for default_osx_theme.OSX runs on FreeBSD so i am not that envious :-) .
We need biologists the same way we need any other professions (i like bio,math as well ;-) ).


Anyway, i will do the Linux one as well as the Music ones.
