![]() I was having a hard time clearing out the search filter within Limewire 4.0.3 until I found the file I needed to delete which carries your search data. To clear the search filter within LIMEWIRE perform the following procedures: 1. Close Limewire 2. Open "My Computer" 3. Go to: C:\Program Files\Limewire\Incomplete 4. Right Click and delete any file called "downloads.dat" 5. Close all windows. 6. Empty Recycle Bin. Hope this helps all of you - I know I was getting pretty ticked until I figured out how to clear this out. I tested it several times also to ensure this is a good fix and it is. ![]() actually, the downloads.dat and its backup (downloads.bak) contain the incomplete file information (alternate sources, map/index of pieces completed/pending . . . ). If deleted, all the incomplete files become useless. The search history -can be turned off in the options (uncheck the "autocomplete" option), -is not saved to the hard drive, -resides in memory, so is flushed whenever LW ends a session. -is lost when changing themes (btw--this may be a bug that will be corrected) cheers |
