 Run a search (you got Windoze, right?) for one of the files you deleted. To delete the files, try right-clicking them (while they are still in your shared folder) and selecting Delete from there or drag and drop them manually in te recycle bin. I would suppose that the files are indeed somewhere still in your PC since, if I remember well, you need to do a Empty Recycle Bin procedure before they actually are completely erased.
