![]() Hmm. Seems my nick has mutated. Anyway. Sorry for not replying to you people but a man's gotta study for exams. In less that a week I'll be done with those annoyances and come back to help you guys a lot more often. padraic. It seems that comcast is your problem. I suggest switching although it has been said that there is a way to get around this hindrance without taking such drastic measures. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...hlight=comcast habilbaby... uh my (nick)name is murasame (thatk God you got it right the 2nd time ![]() It seems that you have a firewall blocking your connection. And if itsn't that, then it must be a router (you said you're on a LAN right?). Check with the one responsible (if you are allowed to do so) to see if it's possible to configure them. john, are you saying that my initial post is too technical? I tried to make it as less technical as possible (I'm not much of a technology geek myself so I prolly couldn't make it more technical even if I tried...), but if you trully think it's difficult to understand then I will try to make an extra effort in making it even simpler. After all, I want it to be understandable by people who have little or no experience with computers (without it being insulting to their intelligence). Any suggestions are welcome.

![]() I suppose you must have checked the "It's them damn ISPs again..." lead, huh? I'm also guessing that you know how to properly port-forward (just in case: http://portforward.com/). You can try doing the following: go to Limewire, click Tools, Options and then click Advanced. The click the Firewall option and change the port there (here is a list of ports by ursula: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=24523)

Tipically my DL speed goes from 0-1 KB/s. Today, after tweaking a little from the advice in here I am reaching 4-10 KB/s, and I think I could get a little more. ![]() Actually, my dld speed is supposed to be 128 and my ul speed 64... Yesterday I was reaching up to 14KBps dld speed, something entirely new to me... Also I got the dreaded "Received incoming this session: false" line... Anyway to resolve this? (if its even hurting my speed..) Thanks! Regards from México! |

![]() Wow, I just got speeds of up to 47kb's on one download while the other might get 3. I have found that if I am looking for a certain file and have no luck, I try again another time and sometimes, I get what I want. I'm fairly new to LW, so I don't know all the ins and outs of it yet but I have become a downloading fool. lol ![]() |
