Is there any way a person can tell if a download video will require a licence before you go to the trouble and time to download. It is frustrating to download a video, take time and a bunch of pop ups to get to a video you have already seen.

Try alternative players that 'might' not be affected by this issue. Not being a windows person I can only suggest this one: VLC (its free) & plays many video formats. It doesn't have the best controls but it works. Heh u can't ask too much more than that. Oh & alternatively get the codec packages that your player may require.
